Why is that men use women as weapons of war, why it that men parade women naked to take revenge, why is that women are raped, abused, controled or killed by men?
Even after days of Manipur video going viral I do not know how I feel. I want to be angry and scream but am unable to. I do not know if I am feeling numb or resigned. But the only image that comes to me is of Phoolan Devi, decades ago she too was paraded naked and gang raped.. so what is different in this one?
Time and again this happens to women, whether in India or around the world – women are abused and used as weapons of war! I do not know if this will ever change. Today, I don’t even want to ask what the government and administration is doing because my question is to every man – “Will this ever stop?”
“What makes men feel entitled to do this to women?” While I do not want this to happen to anyone, for anyone to be treated in this demeaning manner, my question is why men do not disrobe another man and make him walk naked… why?
